Wesley Moraes doesn’t have a future at Aston Villa after falling down the pecking order and being loaned out for the last two seasons, but Ashley Preece of Birmingham Live says the Midlands outfit may finally be able to cash in on his signature after Levante inserted an option to buy in their loan deal for Wesley.
The Spanish outfit, who were relegated to the second division last season, believe Wesley can fire them back into La Liga and are willing to pay £10.9m if he impresses in his loan spell. Villa paid £22.5m for Wesley in 2019, so they’re heading for a loss, but there hasn’t been another suitor willing to sign him permanently.
Wesley has made 26 appearances in all competitions for Villa, scoring just six goals with one assist. The Brazilian international suffered a long-term knee injury in his debut season and has only managed a handful of appearances for Villa since.
Wesley fell down the pecking order and was loaned out to two different clubs in an attempt to get fit and find some form, but he’s scored just two goals in as many years. Villa will be glad to get any money for him, so they’ll hope he performs in Spain.
