Some Aston Villa fans have reacted to a transfer report linking “special” Benfica talent Fabio Baptista with a move to the club.
The 19-year-old Benfica B winger is one of European football’s rapidly developing players and Villa are now said to be interested, along with the likes of Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and Serie A side Atalanta.
Calciomercato claimed that Baptista is viewed as a ‘great prospect’ by the latter but Villa and Palace are pushing for the Portuguese starlet’s signature.
Baptista, who is naturally a winger but can play at right-back, is yet to feature for Benfica’s senior side but has made an impression for their second team. The youngster is valued at a lowly £135,000 by Transfermarkt, leaving his current valuation from the Lisbon club unknown.
