John McGinn has spoken again about his reported links to Celtics, with the Villa midfielder revealing he had his heart set on a move to the Scottish club.
McGinn would eventually join Aston Villa from Hibernian in the summer of 2018, helping Villa gain promotion and becoming a key star at the club.

However, in the process, he rejected a move to Celtic, and McGinn revealed that he had is heart set on a move to the Scottish Premiership side.
Speaking on Scottish Football Extra on BT Sport, via The Birmingham Mail, McGinn said:
It was awful. The summer was extremely tough for me, especially as it was such an important time for Hibs.
I think Celtic had a few offers at the time and openly I had my heart set on it. I’d spoken to everyone at Hibs including Neil Lennon, who ironically is now the Celtic manager. I’m wrapped in a Celtic bubble up the road. A lot of my family are Celtic fans and all my friends go and follow them home and away. At the time it was so tough.

Celtic must be hating the fact they missed out on McGinn now.
The midfielder has become a hugely important player for Dean Smith’s side now, and has been linked with a big move to Manchester United.
The Villa faithful have taken to McGinn very quickly, and will hope he stays at the club for a long time.
