Huddersfield and Swansea join Davis race – should Villa let him leave?

The 21-year-old has featured regularly in Dean Smith’s pre-season squads, with the Villa boss a big fan of the forward.

Davis has turned out 44 times for the club over the past three seasons, but could it be a good move to allow the player to leave on loan?

Even though Smith is a big admirer of Davis, it could be in the best interests for all involved to allow the youngster to gain regular first-team football back in the second tier.

It would give Davis the opportunity to mature as a player and hand him the chance to become a proven goalscorer, which could ultimately pave the way into the Villa first-team in years to come.

A move to Wales to join Swansea for the upcoming campaign could be a move that would suit him best, with an attractive style of football on offer, which would demand Davis to hold the ball up and bring others into play on a regular basis.

The England Under 20 international could really stake his claim for a long-term future at Villa with a successful loan stint in the Championship, and a move could well gather pace in the coming days.
