Burnley willing to sell Villa target Tom Heaton

Burnley will only sell Tom Heaton this summer if Aston Villa come in with a better offer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The report states that Heaton has held face-to-face talks with Clarets boss Sean Dyche this week and will be allowed to move on if the Lancashire side receive a suitable bid.

Villa are thought to be extremely keen on the England international after ending their interest in Heaton’s fellow countryman Jack Butland.

The report goes on to add that Burnley will target Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell as a back-up to Nick Pope should Heaton make the move to Villa Park.

Villa boss Dean Smith is keen on adding another goalkeeper to his squad ahead of the new season to challenge Jed Steer for the number one spot.

Heaton could well prove to be that man, and the experienced Premier League shot-stopper could well be Villa’s eighth arrival in what has been a busy summer if they submit a suitable offer.
