Wolves join Villa in pursuit of Kalvin Phillips

Wolves have joined Aston Villa in the race to sign Leeds United central midfielder Kalvin Phillips this summer.

According to Football Insider, Wolves are eyeing up a deal to bring Phillips to the Premier League this summer.

The report claims that Villa, along with Southampton and Norwich, were already interested in Phillips – who enjoyed a superb season with Leeds in the Championship.

Phillips was named in the Championship Team of the Season after Leeds finished 3rd in the table – behind Sheffield United and Norwich.

Football Insider claim that Leeds are interested in Wolves winger Helder Costa, which could give Villa’s rivals a boost in their pursuit of Phillips, as they could use the Portuguese forward as part of any deal.

Villa have already made two signings since being promoted back to the Premier League, with Anwar El Ghazi signing permanently and Jota joining from Birmingham on a two-year deal.
