Aston Villa are plotting a £5million swoop for Queens Park Rangers defender Toni Leistner, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
Leistner only joined QPR on a free transfer from FC Union Berlin last summer but he’s already become a fan’s favourite and is now the club captain.
The London-based side do not want to lose the 28-year-old but O’Rourke says that they’d likely accept offers in the region of £5million.

Cardiff City are also said to be interested in the German defender, whether they remain in the Premier League or not, so Villa won’t have it all their own way if they do decide to make a move for him.
Aston Villa currently have the worst defensive record of any side in the top half of the Championship table, so it is of little surprise to see that they’re already planning to recruit defensive reinforcements in the summer as Dean Smith is keen to plug the leaky back line.
