Brendan Rodgers has been keen for Celtic to sign the Scottish international midfielder all summer but the Hoops have seen every bid they’ve made rejected by Hibs as they’ve not met their valuation.

Whilst Villa are yet to agree a fee for the 23-year-old either, they have been given permission to talk to McGinn whilst they and Hibs look to come to an agreement on a transfer fee.

The news will come as a big blow to Celtic, who had been hoping to have signed the midfielder already, but it looks like Steve Bruce’s men could be about to hijack that move and take McGinn to the Championship
