If Steve Bruce leaves who should replace him?

Steve Bruce guided his Aston Villa team to the Playoff Final where they were defeated 1-0 by Slaviša Jokanović’s Fulham, damning them to at least another season of Championship football.

With this disappointing result, some Villa fans are calling for the departure of Steve Bruce. They believe his job is done as he has stabilised the club and it’s now time for a more attacking manager to take the helm at Villa Park.

Regardless of what does happen, the work done by Steve Bruce has to be appreciated, especially considering the tough year he has had, with the loss of both of his parents.

Villa will lose key loan players like Robert Snodgrass and Sam Johnstone, and it looks increasingly likely that Villa could lose more key players as rumours are circulating that Jack Grealish and James Chester could be sold. Next season could be a rebuilding job and a new manager could be just what Villa need to guide them to success in their third season in the Championship.

Let’s take a look at some managers that would be a good fit and could potentially take the hot seat at Villa Park, should current boss Steve Bruce depart the club.
