Sunderland keen to secure McCormack deal loan imminently

Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack looks to be edging ever closer to a move to Sunderland.

The experienced forward has been linked with a plethora of clubs this summer, as he looks to revitalise his career elsewhere. However, it looks as though his destination will be Sunderland, and according to the Daily Mail, the Black Cats want to have the deal secured before they take on Derby in their Championship opener.

Villa already have plenty of attacking options and all of these are judged by Steve Bruce to be more viable choices ahead of the upcoming campaign. Much has been made of McCormack’s attitude since his big money move to Villa, and he’s certainly underwhelmed at the club.

The former Leeds attacker is currently earning a whopping £45,000 per week, and therefore Villa will be keen to get him off the wage bill. However, it’s claimed in the report that the extent that Sunderland will pay McCormack per week is unknown at this stage.
