Villa activate Elmohamady’s release clause

Aston Villa have moved closer to securing the signature of Ahmed Elmohamady from Hull this summer.

According to Sky Sports tonight, Steve Bruce’s side have activated the defender’s release clause, as they look to bolster their right-sided options this summer.

Elmohamady has been linked with a move to Villa for a little while now, and it looks as though the Championship outfit are ready to bring the experienced Hull man in.

The 29-year-old can play at both right-back and at right midfield, and is sure to offer Bruce plenty of options as he looks to press on with a promotion push next season.

Elmohamady is a full Egypt international and has experience of the top flight, which is certainly something that will have appealed to Bruce
