John Terry signs for Aston Villa

Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has confirmed that John Terry has signed for the club.

The 36-year-old left Chelsea earlier this year after a long and distinguished career where he won pretty much every competition a domestic British-based player can win and he will now head to Villa Park to bring some vital experience and leadership to the heart of Steve Bruce’s defence.

The former England captain had numerous offers on the table from clubs all over the world, however, he did not want to move abroad and he was not keen on the thought of playing against Chelsea in the Premier League, so he had the choice of a few Championship clubs and he decided to join Aston Villa.

Terry will slot in to the heart of the back four and will be hoping to do all he can to get Villa promoted to the top-flight, where their fans are certain they belong.
