Five things learned – Fulham (A)

Aston Villa were very poor yesterday in their 15th defeat of the Championship season, falling short in a 3-1 loss away at Fulham.

Steve Bruce’s men headed into the game in search of what would largely have been perceived as a surprise win at Craven Cottage, with Slavisa Jokanovic’s men playing some good stuff at the moment.

The hosts took the lead early on through promising left-back Ryan Sessegnon, who was operating in a more advanced role, before things turned even worse for Villa.

Jonathan Kodjia was dismissed rather harshly just five minutes later, much to the dismay of all those in the claret and blue.

However, Jack Grealish levelled things shortly after the restart with a well-taken goal. The lead lasted just six minutes though as Sone Aluko fired home to put the hosts back in the driving seat.

Neeskens Kebano’s low drive sealed the deal for Fulham and piled more misery on Villa in the end.

Here are five things we learned from the match.
