In a season which has seen Villa suffer numerous defeats, it was only fitting that this current ‘team’ signed off with a 4-0 defeat to Arsenal.

Oliver Giroud opened the scoring after five minutes at the Emirates, before completing his hat-trick in the last 15 minutes as Villa fell apart at the back.

Arsenal still had time to get a fourth, as Arteta’s shot bounced into the goal off Mark Bunn in the dying moments.

Take a look at the best images from what could be Villa’s last Premier League game for a very long time.
