Villa fell to their 25th league defeat of the season, as Southampton ran out 4-2 winners at Villa Park.
A brace from Tadic, as well as goals from Long and Mane gave the visitors all three points, despite Ashley Westwood scoring a brace to give Villa hope of claiming a point.
Villa were better than they had been in previous fixtures, but a number of players still failed to impress, with Guzan, Lescott, Richards, Bacuna and Sinclair all putting in poor performances once again.
